I was tasked with redesigning an existing automotive magazine by maintaining its core brand identity while introducing a fresh, modern design approach. This project reimagines Hagerty Drivers Club Magazine with clean, functional layouts that celebrate car culture while enhancing readability and visual impact.

Project Overview

Challenge

Select an existing magazine brand and redesign it by retaining its established identity while introducing a new visual direction. The redesign needed to follow the brand’s specifications and production requirements while showcasing a personal design.

Strategy

To apply a modern, minimalist twist to the Hagerty Drivers Club brand while preserving its premium, heritage-driven feel. Focused on clean, functional layouts, large photography, and strong typography to create visually engaging spreads that are both refined and easy to read.

Take Aways

Learned to analyze and refresh an existing brand while keeping its authenticity. Gained hands-on experience with editorial structure, typographic hierarchy, and custom grid systems in InDesign to enhance storytelling and readability.
